A desk up for grabs.
New lip balm reviews.
And 1,500 chocolates!
Hello, and I hope you had a relaxing time over the bank holiday weekend. Maybe you even came up with some brilliant new ideas because you’d relaxed and got away from the desk for a while?
A used the time to give his office a makeover. He has taken out his computer desk and replaced it with the wooden desk I was using until recently, and is very pleased with the feeling of space he’s created.
If you live in the Frome area and could do with a computer desk, let us know – it’s free if you come and pick it up. The plastic covering on the desk top has started to crack due to wear, but could be easily repaired or replaced. Otherwise it’s as good as the day we bought it.
I’ve been busy too, publishing the latest clutch of lip balm reviews. A big thank you to Sharon Jackson, Claire Brewster and Sarah Clive for trying out and sharing their views on their favourites.
You may remember Claire from the Through the Keyhole series. In a change from her paper sculpture she has been working with untreated brass, and her exhibition Nature Morte – Rethinking Still Life is open at Pitfield London until 20 June.
I also received some excellent home working news about Isabel the chocolatier, whose chocolates are inspired by her native Brazil. Isabel used the articles in WfHW to publicise her business, and they were spotted by staff at the Brazilian Embassy.
As a result she has been invited by the embassy to set up a stall at ‘Brazil Day’ on 12 June. This event will be held in Trafalgar Square to mark the beginning of the World Cup and Isabel is preparing 1,500 chocolates to sell at the biggest event she’s attended so far.
Enjoy this short week, and please do keep sending us your latest home working news.
