It’s essential to have the best tools for maximum productivity when you work from home, but it can be difficult to decide exactly what is the right purchase. One of our home working review panel ordered a Mr Nutcase phone case and gives their verdict.

What is it?
Mr Nutcase is a website that enables you to create personalised cases for various makes of phone, iPads and ipods. You upload your picture, tinker with the layout using their easy-to-use web tools, press order, put in your payment details and they send you the finished article by first class post.

Design *****
The website is attractive to look at and simple to use. They ask you for the make of phone, and the model, and you choose between a couple of styles, open or flip up. You can choose from several design layouts using up to 12 pictures. If you don’t want to use your own picture, you can pick from a large collection of ready-made designs.

Pricing *****
Pricing is straightforward and transparent. I have an iphone, and the cost was £14.95 for the simple slimline case, and £19.95 for the flip up model and this includes post and packing. Pretty good value for money.

What is the case like? ****
The whole exercise must have taken no more than five minutes and two days later the finished article arrived, fitted the phone perfectly and was a pretty good standard of reproduction. The texture of the finish is matt, and the plastic a little brittle, but it looks pretty hardwearing.

Well, actually, it looks like a 1970s calculator. Definitely worth a look. My 18 year old son who swore he’d never use a personalised case, had it off me within seconds and I haven’t seen it since.

This would be ideal for a Christmas present, sentimental or witty. It would be inexpensive and eyecatching to customise your business technology too.
