Garden Office Spotlight – it’s a short commute to a garden room!
The October edition of our popular sponsored feature, Garden Office Spotlight, offers three more stylish interpretations of the garden room as a base for home business.
Check out the garden office recently featured on a Channel 4 show, a multipurpose building with an attached shed, and a garden room with optional ‘green roof’.

The Garden Office
‘Once again The Garden Office has featured on Sarah Beeny’s home improvement show, Double Your House for Half the Money. We were asked to provide a garden room outside the home where Paul can run his business away from the hustle and bustle of his growing family.
This 3.8 x 3.6m garden office offers plenty of space for a one person office, and has western red cedar cladding, decking and a contemporary slatted side cheek. The graphite sliding door set and corner window let in plenty of natural light. Paul is delighted with his smart new office and 30 second commute.’
Cabin Master
‘Cabin Master fitted this garden office in a narrow garden behind a beautiful, Victorian London terrace house. The customer wanted a building that made the most of the garden, so we constructed a rectangular, multi-purpose building from slow-grown redwood, untreated at the time of the photograph.
The back section is a shed and has its own door and is fully partitioned off. The front of the building is an insulated garden office that can be used all year round.
The customer didn’t want a standard straight-fronted office so we cut the corner off to make a feature and give the best views of the garden.’
Garden Affairs
‘Our very popular Kubus Garden Room measures 3m x 2.5m but can be made to any size to suit your needs. The building makes the perfect sized home working space and at under 2.5m high complies with current planning regulations.
The Kubus is available for self assembly with full instructions, or fully installed by our Garden Affairs team. Constructed from high quality, 44mm solid timber, the building is double glazed and offered insulated, with wiring ready for electrics.
Also available is a “green” sedum roof, a great option for the eco-friendly. A green roof offers great insulation properties, absorbs rainwater and attracts beneficial wildlife to the garden.’
What kind of garden room would you choose? We hope you’ve picked up plenty of inspiration for your own workspace.
