The Little Thatched Company

The Little Thatched Co - garden building

The Little Thatched Company won the Amazing Spaces Shed of the Year Garden Office with our beautiful thatched, oak framed garden office. (If you missed our brief TV appearance, you can view it through our website on our blog!)

Every garden building in our range is built much like a timber framed house (minus the foundations!), and all are fully insulated as standard. They come with the finest crafted, exposed oak frames, and a choice of roofing materials including handmade clay tiles. We have a range of ‘off the shelf’ designs or you can work with our design team and architect to design your very own dream retreat.’

Smart Garden Offices

Garden Office Spotlight - Smart Garden Offices - garden building

‘Smart Garden Offices crafted this delightful Micro Suffolk Barn based on our customer’s requirements as an author. She wanted the perfect place to escape and get creative. The exterior offers a beautiful rustic charm, fitting perfectly with the surroundings, whilst the interior of this writer’s hub is fitted with handmade bookshelves, designed to create extra space to store all her favourite books.

What’s even better is even with the cold weather that’s spreading across the UK, this clever garden building is fully insulated (as with all our Smart Garden Rooms), so it’s fit for use whatever the weather.’

Homestead Timber Buildings

Garden Office Spotlight - Homestead Timber Buildings - garden building

‘Our client chose this pretty green garden building from the Homestead Timber Buildings Windsor range for her new art studio. Two coats of the Pea Green external finish were applied before delivery and fitting, just one of 15 colour choices available, and it perfectly suits the setting surrounded by mature trees.

This traditional design with an increased roof pitch is constructed from tongue and groove Scandinavian redwood, insulated and double glazed so that the muse is not interrupted by bad weather! We also offer more contemporary, minimalist designs, plus two DIY ranges supplied in kit form for those keen to build their own garden room.’

My biggest challenge working from home was to get my work space right for actually working. This article has given me a great idea on how to move the office out of the home – 10 steps into the garden.
