Homeworking news
Our collection of browseworthy posts for the past month
is now out,
and what a month it was.
Here is the homeworking news.
Firstly we opened our new shop for home workers a plan we’ve had for some time now, but not put into practice until we found a way to do it that looked good and enhanced the blog. We’re starting with a small, hand-picked stock of items like furniture, phones, accessories and stationery, and will add more in due course. Tell us what you think and what you’d like to see.
We’ve partnered with specialist business insurance broker Policybee to bring you down-to-earth information about insurance for your home business. All written in plain English by human beings, and even – gasp – with a touch of humour. How refreshing.
Summer #GardenOfficeWeek was as bright as the weather, shedding light (sorry) on different aspects of choosing and working in a garden room. From whether you need planning permission to why greenery is so good for us, via mezzanine floors, Thoreau’s cabin, a lazy afternoon with an old Labrador, and the brilliance of contemporary garden room design, we have something for everyone.
And talking of dogs, social media trainer Jane Binnion’s account of rescuing three-legged dog Miffy is a real joy. Read how Miffy has grown into the perfect companion for Jane and her daughter, admired by everyone they meet out on their daily walks.
And finally we have some new reviews for you, all carried out by busy home workers, as usual. Francesca Geens of Digital Dragonfly has painted a second wall in her home office with whiteboard paint, this time by Smart Wall Paint. She’s thrilled with the result and highly recommends writing on the wall.
If you prefer a smaller investment, our readers have been perfecting their pouts with vegan lip balms from home business Oh! Organics, made with an alternative to beeswax.
Not to mention that we’ve had some excellent guest posts in June, and there are more lined up for this month. We’ve been told that traffic to our guest bloggers’ sites increases by 50 to 200% when their posts are published, so do let us know if you’d like to share your experiences and expertise.
If you’d like to read our July round-up of homeworking news on the day of issue, just sign up in the box in the sidebar. See you there!
I love the shop, what a clever idea!
Thanks, Emma, we’re very pleased with it. Inkling have made the whole process quite painless!
