The BIG Jelly, March 2011

Judy Heminsley was a co-organiser of The BIG Jelly, the first national Jelly coworking event in the UK, held in March 2011. The event brought together Jelly organisers and attendees, home workers, freelancers and small business owners from all over the UK and across the Channel.

The BIG Jelly was held at QHotels Telford, Shropshire, just a few miles down the road from Ironbridge, the cradle of the Industrial Revolution. A fitting setting for a gathering of individuals changing the way we work today! A point proudly made by Fay Easton, another member of The BIG Jelly Team, who runs Enterprise HQ, a modern workhub, in what used to be the Coalport China Works.

As well as listening to three inspiring speakers – Emma Jones of Enterprise Nation and Bitsy, Louise Findlay-Wilson of PR Pro and Daniel Priestley of Triumphant Events – delegates could choose from a selection of breakout sessions delivered by experts in their field, browse a mini-expo, catch up on work in the Jelly room or simply sit and talk to new connections.

This site was created by Jan Minihane, founder of Shropshire Jelly and third member of The BIG Jelly Team, to increase the awareness and accessibility of Jelly throughout the UK.
