Mr Nutcase tablet case
Best kit for the home office – Mr Nutcase tablet case
We all look for quality and value when we buy items for home working, but it can be difficult to tell what is a good purchase, especially when you buy online. One of our home working review panel ordered a Mr Nutcase tablet case and gives their verdict.
Mr Nutcase tablet case
What is it?
Mr Nutcase is an easy to use website which allows you to design your own mobile phone or tablet case, which is then printed and posted to you.
Service is prompt -I ordered my case at 8pm in the evening, it was dispatched by midday the following day and delivered the next morning – and you get regular updates via email on the status of your order.
The site is clearly laid out, without confusing graphics or adverts and other distractions. Instructions are simple and clear to use.
You can use your own photos – uploaded from your desktop or your Facebook or Instagram accounts – or use one of Mr Nutcase’s existing designs. I used a mix of uploads and Instagram pictures for mine, and both worked well. They uploaded quickly and it was easy to move pictures to fit frames or resize as needed.
There are cases to choose from for most of the currently available mobile phone and tablet makes and models. Although the types are limited; for example for my iPad (I’m using a 2nd gen device) I could only choose from a hard rear “shell” or a folio case (in white), to which I was then able to custom add my own photos. Some other options or colours would have been a bonus.
You are told upfront how much your case will cost before you have to upload any images or go too far with the design. Simply select the type of case and you’ll get a price before you proceed. Worldwide shipping is free, so the price you see is what you pay.
I did a quick comparison to other sites offering the same goods and Mr Nutcase is comparable, and in several cases cheaper for equivalent products. Payment is available via credit / debit card or PayPal and uses a secure service.
What is the case like? ****
I ordered a folio case, which allows for printing on the back only (this is clearly stated when you order), but gives the ability for the case to operate as a stand as well as a cover. It also offers the magnetic locking function common to iPad, i.e. when you close the cover it locks the iPad screen automatically.
The stand function works well, and supports my iPad as I would expect it to, without worrying that it’s going to fall over, and the case offers protection from minor bumps and scratches.
It fits my iPad well, allowing access to sockets and buttons. My only minor criticism after using for several days is that the fit is a little too snug, making accessing the volume and other buttons a little difficult, as they are slightly tucked away.
The printing was exactly as I’d seen on the preview image when I ordered, and is of good quality that looks as though it will last. I’m a heavy iPad user, and so far I’ve not noticed any marks or blemishes to the finish from several days of use; putting in and pulling out of my bag etc.
Worth a look? ****
I’ve got a number of different iPad and phone cases, and would recommend a Mr Nutcase tablet case or phone case if you’re looking for something personalised that you’ve designed yourself. And they would make good fun presents for someone.
Limited range means you’re not going to find everything you might want, but price is very competitive so I would look here first to see if they have what you want before going elsewhere.
Overall score ***** 4.3
