Lip balm reviews – Avon Anew
Avon Anew Beauty Lip Plumping Lip Conditioner
I have been using this product for several years now. I find I am allergic to many lipsticks and lip balms but this one has never caused me any problems. In fact, if I do have an allergic reaction to something, or even just dry lips, this is what I turn to to make everything better.
There’s no taste to this product.
This product glides on smoothly and leaves a pleasant, soft texture on my lips without feeling clarty or oily.
There’s no fragrance to this product.
The box states “formulated with retinol and collagen to smooth and plump lips”. There’s a list of ingredients that are obviously not ‘natural’ however this doesn’t bother me as it simply works and never causes me any allergic reactions. I can’t see any SPF factor which does slightly count against it.
Staying power & effectiveness *****
I apply this a couple of times a day in general. If I’m wearing lipstick I generally apply this first as a kind of undercoat. It feels effective for a few hours which is what I’d expect.
Pretty much standard packaging in line with other Avon Anew products. Nothing particularly special but then I’m not bothered so much about the packaging as the product itself.
Price & value *****
To me this is expensive at £9, however it is also totally worth it as it works. My lips always feel soft and moisturised when I wear this. I have never had a bad reaction to it, and it soothes my lips when they feel dry or have a bad reaction to other products. I feel it gives my lips a nice sheen when I wear it on its own. I never go anywhere without it.
Overall score 4.4 ****
Soothing and moisturising your lips. I’ve never bothered measuring the plumpness but the reviews seem to uphold Avon’s claim.
