Graham Cornfield (what a wonderful late summer name!) made a remark in his comment on yesterday’s post (What makes home workers happy) that got me thinking. He said about his home working lunchtime – ‘Wow! I wouldn’t have dreamt of this six months ago.’ It made me realise we all have our own story about [...]
Last week in the post about turning home working horrors into hurrays, Kyle Newman mentioned that extrovert and introvert home workers probably respond in different ways to the threat of becoming isolated. Extroverts are generally understood to be outgoing people who like socialising and talking, whereas introverts we tend to think of as shy and [...]

Over the weekend I’ve been reading about Nicholas Carr’s book The Shallows: How the Internet is Changing the Way We Think, Read and Remember. I’m not surprised to learn that the average Briton spends almost half their time looking at a screen (computer, television or phone). As home workers we might spend even more than [...]
Moving house is supposed to be up there amongst the most stressful events of a lifetime, and if you run a business from home, there’s even more to consider. We’ve moved our home and two businesses several times in recent years and so I’ve distilled my experiences into a short guide ‘How to move house [...]

If EN have recommended you I really must read your book! It’s been a very busy day so think I’ll adopt the do nothing strategy now. Although my wife thinks that’s my regular approach!
Must also have a proper look at Jelly/Co-working. It seems the sort of thing to do at The Watercooler.
Any sign of the Paparazzi yet?

Thanks, San. And I’m very much looking forward to getting my home office re-established and joining you once again on EN at #watercoolermoment.

Maybe when I return to the land of the home working my book will be recommended on The Watercooler too! Now that would really be an affirmation of the power of doing nothing! One of my first posts when I get back will be about The Watercooler – honest.
